aboutI am an assistant professor of political science at the University of Minnesota. My work focuses on questions of violence and conflict, specifically on how violence has been conceptualized, represented, and problematized in political theory, in public discourse, and in the history of political thought. My expertise is in early modern and modern political theory, and I have both research and teaching interests in contemporary political, social, and critical thought as well as in Continental philosophy and rhetorical theory. Currently, I am working on a book project on violence in the political thought of Niccolò Machiavelli.
